La seduzione dell'antico... una mostra maschilista?

Una bella mostra "La seduzione dell'antico..."
Però è mai possibile che l'unica artista donna esposta, Anne Poirier, ci fosse solo perché accompagnata? Non ci sono state artiste nel '900??

I Love Istanbul

Just Dead! - Ölümlere hayır #Istanbul

A gun and bomb attack on Istanbul's Ataturk international airport has killed 36 people and injured more than 140 others, officials say.

Three attackers began shooting inside and outside the terminal late on Tuesday and blew themselves up after police fired at them, officials say.

PM Binali Yildirim said early signs pointed to so-called Islamic State but no-one has so far admitted the attack.

Recent bombings have been linked to either IS or Kurdish separatists. Continue

Every whistleblower that I interviewed wept - Eva Orner

Australia’s current refugee policy has been informed by a succession of prime

ministers, and four of them have a part to play in the development of Chasing Asylum: a stunning new documentary directed by Eva Orner.

Chasing Asylum first look review – asylum seeker documentary is vital and gut-wrenching

This viscerally intense exposé of Australia’s asylum seeker policy will make audiences feel like a brick smashed to pieces with a sledgehammer

The Oscar-winning Australian was living in New York in 2007 when Kevin Rudd was elected. She thought Labor’s return to power would bring an end to the so-called Pacific Solution, where asylum seekers were transported to detention centres on islands away from the mainland. “We stayed up all night celebrating the end of John Howard, and the [detention] camps closing, and then to my horror they were reopened,” Orner tells Guardian Australia. Piero Santi

Ciao Piero, ti vogliamo bene. Radio Città del Capo

No extradition for Lauri Love

“I'm in the awkward position of facing dire consequences for not being guilty enough.”

Lauri Love is a computer scientist from Stradishall in the UK who has a long history of political activism. He played a prominent role in the student and Occupy movements in Glasgow during 2011-12.

Lauri is facing potential extradition to the United States for his alleged involvement in #OpLastResort, the series of online protests that followed the persecution and untimely death of Aaron Swartz. Effectively, he is being pursued by the US criminal justice system for allegedly protesting abuses of that same system, with prosecutors in three US court districts accusing Lauri of hacking into various government websites.

Love was first arrested on 28 October 2013 for alleged offences under the UK’s Computer Misuse Act. The National Crime Agency (NCA) seized Lauri’s computers and tried to force him to turn over his encryption keys, but Lauri refused to cooperate and was ultimately released on bail. Nine months later, Lauri’s police bail was allowed to expire and the UK investigation against him appeared to be closed, although the NCA refused to return six devices that they could not decrypt.

Then on 15 July 2015, Love was arrested again by UK officials, this time at the behest of the US government, who had issued several indictments and corresponding extradition warrants. The FBI and Department of Justice allege that Love has been involved in hacking into various governmental agencies, including the US Army, NASA, the Federal Reserve and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Lauri Love’s extradition hearing will be held on 28 and 29 June 2016. He is also fighting the NCA for the return of his property, in a case which should shed light on what happened during the initial British investigation.

Lauri is increasingly being recognised as an expert on hacking, surveillance and privacy issues in the UK and has made a principled stand against the country’s forced decryption laws. Lauri Love deserves our solidarity and needs all of our support to oppose his extradition and end his persecution.

Selfie of a murderess! Omar Mateen #Orlando

Omar Saddiqui Mateen was the gunman who opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, killing at least 50 people, two law enforcement officials told CNN.
The suspect, 29, who was killed by police, is from Fort Pierce, Florida, the officials said.
A law enforcement source told CNN that Mateen worked as a private security guard. He rented a car and drove to Orlando to carry out the attack, the source said.
FBI teams and local law enforcement are working to clear Mateen's apartment, a federal law enforcement source said.

Portrait of Béla Bartók #Hungary

Drawing for Ravenna Festival

Béla Bartók
Quartetto per archi n. 4 in do maggiore SZ 91

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Adagio e fuga in do minore per quartetto d’archi, K 546

Giuseppe Verdi
Quartetto in mi minore per archi

“A quartet by Verdi!”: disbelief and amazement show through this title by the Gazzetta Musicale, announcing the great opera composer’s new chamber music work (Milan, 1873). Arguing against the raging “fashion” that German instrumental music merited a superior rung in the musical hierarchy above Italian opera, Verdi reacted with a string quartet, which he had “written in [his] leisure moments” but in respect of academic rules and with a masterful use of the fugue. The quartet was performed in Milan only in 1876, at the very same Conservatory where the young, award-winning Lyskamm Quartet was born in 2008. It is now proposed in a bill that also includes Mozart’s contrapuntal masterpiece and the aggressive force of Bartók’s fourth quartet, in stark contrast with Romantic softness.

Fuck Father! - Yamato Tanooka

Yamato's parents had briefly left him by a wooded road near Nanae in Hokkaido region to punish him for throwing rocks on a family day out. When they went back minutes later he had gone.
He was dressed in only a T-shirt and jeans, in an area where temperatures can dip as low as 9C at night.
"It's been colder than it usually is at this time of year," Ross Findlay, founder of the Niseko Adventure Centre in the region, told the BBC.
"We've had snow on top of the mountain in Niseko, though that might not have been the case of Nanae, which is further south. But for a small boy who doesn't have much body fat, that's a problem." Continue

The constitution of Kuwait is above the Quran and Shari'a. Shaikha Binjasim

Portrait of Luigi Nono #Italy

Drawing for Ravenna Festival

In 1985, Nono sighted an inscription on a monastery wall in Toledo, Spain, which became the motto for his late compositions: “Travellers, there are no paths, you must walk”. Dreaming.
The concrete utopia of a radically new music has always been the centre of Luigi Nono’s theoretical work, where sound space is a conveyor of meaning. In the time of Nono’s music, consistently “nostalgic, distant, future”, the (perfectly audible) distance from all inertia, immobility and closure (not only musical) of our time, projects it into a perfect, ethical, totallyutopian dimension. Thus, in La Lontananza, the violin score is distributed on different music stands: the soloist must walk around, following non-linear, non-established paths with no need for a fixed form.

Workshop e mostra “Io voto!”

Cura scientifica e grafica: Gianluca Costantini, Stefania D’Arcangelo, Federica Zabarri

Sezione in mostra fino al 9 giugno.
